    GINGERBREAD CAKE

    1 loaf tin greased. Set the oven at 160oC / 325oF /Gas Mark 3

    INGREDIENTS:

    225g plain flour;

    1.25ml salt;

    10ml ground ginger;

    5ml ground cinnamon;

    5ml bicarbonate of soda;

    100g butter;

    100g soft brown sugar;

    100g golden syrup;

    1 medium egg;

    45ml plain yoghurt;

    30ml ginger preserve;

    50g sultanas;

    100g icing sugar

    METHOD: Sift flour spices and bicarb into a bowl. Heat the butter, sugar, and syrup gently in a pan

    over gentle heat until butter has melted. Beat egg and yoghurt together and add to the flour mix, along with the melted ingredients, beat till all combined stir in ginger preserve.

    Spoon into the prepared tin and bake for 55/60 mins until cooked through and firm to touch. Cool on a wire rack. Mix the icing sugar with 1 or 2 tablespoons cold water until it runs easily, drizzle over the cake.

Our village hall...

The village hall was re-built in 2005. It now provides a great community resource which is used by any number of groups each week.

The hall is suitable for a range of activities - from meetings and events to family functions and parties. The hall is available for hire, with hourly and daily rates. For more information or to make a booking, please contact:
